I didnt notice a huge difference in the way the bike rode after putting lighter wheels on it althought it was abit lighter when weighed.
i say go for them, alot of people get abit carried away when compairing light and heavy rims and in my opinion from and from experience there wasn't that much difference when riding.. my bike is only a commuter though. hope this helps!
